Experience
My entire career has been spent doing Cell and Molecular biology research. I did basic research at UCLA where I was responsible for several projects that led to 9 publications in major scientific journals. When I left UCLA I joined a large well known pharmaceutical company where I did drug discovery and development. During my tenure there I was able to move up from a research associate to Scientist, a position usually left for PhDs. In addition I developed several assays and models to identify and validate novel drugs that advanced to development and clinical trials. In the past year I made a career change to Clinical Trials Research , currently I am a Junior Specialist at the University of California Irvine in the department of Neurology Clinical Trials. I have the opportunity to work with doctors who are experts in the fields of Dementia, Huntington’s disease, Schizophrenia, and other diseases. I hope to make a difference in patients’ lives. In addition to my work I I am a tutor in the literacy program at the Newport Beach Public Library. I tutor adult learners who don’t speak English well and would like to advance in the work place, read to their children, or just communicate with people in general. I have had the opportunity to work with learners from Korea, Iran, Japan, Italy, and have been able to see them achieve their goals. One of my students was admitted to and finished a Master’s degree at UCLA.

Hobbies
I am an avid hiker year-round, a backpacker in the summer, and I snowshoe in the winter. I love being outdoors and spend time playing tennis and kayaking as well. I also spend time at the gym. I love going to bookstores and find interesting books to read while browsing. I also like home decorating and shopping for things for the house.
